Scripture to Live By: For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for all,
the Righteous for
the unrighteous (the Just for the unjust,
the Innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God. In His human body
He was put to death, but He was made alive in the spirit,

Cake Decorating Post:
I was ask to make a Pretty Woman Cake and a Ugly Man cake for a Pie Supper. If you would like to make these cakes the basic steps for these are here. The instructions to make the flowers that are on this cake aregiven in that post as well, I just used fall colors.
I didn’t understand why they wanted these cakes at a pie supper. But I was told just to write Ugly Man on one and Pretty Woman on the other one. I had never been to a Pie Supper, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but my husband and I decided to go. The building where the supper was held was in the mountains of West Virginia, which reminded me of a school house from Little House on the Prairie.
The proceeds from this Pie Supper was going to purchase a roof for this community center.
The evening started off with the meal. After the meal was enjoyed, they had a cake walk, which my husband and I enjoyed, even though I had never been on a cake walk before. We learned quickly that you won a cake if you would stop on a certain spot when the music stopped. This cake walk went on for about thirty minutes. Needless to say my husband and I did not win a cake but donated many quarters. One family won at least three cakes.
I found out what the Ugly Man and Pretty Woman Cakes were all about. The men present could nominate a pretty woman to bid on. The pretty girl that brought the highest bid won the Pretty Girl cake. The bid for this Pretty Girl brought in $74.00 for this cake.
Then the women nominated ugly men to bid on to win the Ugly Man cake and this cake brought in $46.00. The people had a lot of fun with the bidding on people that they wanted to win the title and the cake.
Next, a real auctioneer led the auction to auction off things that had been donated for the auction. I am not sure how much money was raised for the building but I do know that all who attended had a fun filled evening and help provide money to put a new roof on this community center building.
Blessings to all,
