Scripture To Live By:
Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers!
For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way over the man who carries out evil devices!
Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.
For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.
Psalm 37:1-9
Recipe Post: There are many different recipes for deviled eggs. I am trying to find my favorite one. My sister has given me the following three. Each one has a little different taste. Hope you will help me, by trying them and let me know which one you like the best.
If you would like to try these recipes here is the ingredients you will need.
Recipe #1
Ingredients:
12 hard boiled eggs – peeled
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon of paprika
2 teaspoons of prepared mustard or 1 teaspoon dry mustard
4 Tablespoons of Mayonnaise or Salad Dressing
Optional: 2 Tablespoons of Sweet Pickle Relish
Optional: Dust finished eggs with paprika
Recipe #2
Ingredients:
12 hard boiled eggs – peeled
2 teaspoons of vinegar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons of prepared mustard or 1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 cup Mayonnaise or Salad Dressing
Optional: Dust finished eggs with paprika and garnish with parsley sprigs.
Recipe #3
Ingredients:
12 hard boiled eggs – peeled
1/2 teaspoon of chives
1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon dill weed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons of prepared mustard or 1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 cup Mayonnaise or Salad Dressing
(add 1-2 teaspoons of milk if needed for right consistency – I didn’t need it.)
Optional: Dust finished eggs with paprika and garnish with parsley sprigs.
Steps to follow: 1. Boil eggs in dish large enough to cover eggs with water.
2. Bring eggs to boiling point then turn heat down to simmer and simmer for 15 minutes.
3. Pour off hot water and cover eggs with cold water and let set for a couple of minutes.
4. I then peel the eggs. (I gently crack the shell of egg all over by tapping it on the counter top. This loosens the shell so it comes off easier.) Remove shell and cut egg in half lengthwise. Remove yolk from egg and put in dish. Mash egg yolks with a fork.
The ingredients shown below are for recipe #3.
5. Mix ingredients in a separate bowl and set aside.
6. Add ingredients to egg yolks. . Mix well.
7. Use a pastry bag and large star tip to pipe egg mixture into egg shell
(I made a celery stick with pimento cheese spread to go in the center of my dish with lettuce leaves under the celery sticks. I put the eggs around the outside edges of the egg dish.)
8. Garnished the dish with red pepper rings.
Serve as an appetizers or with the meal.
Hope you will give them a try.
