Scripture To Live By:
Philippians 4:7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 12:1,2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Recipe Post:
This recipe was given to me by my son-in-laws, aunt Carol. It is quite easy to make and delightful to eat. My husband and I really enjoy it.
Ingredients needed:
2 packages of cream cheese
2 packages of lemon instant pudding/pie filling.
2 (8 ounce) Strawberry Cool Whip (if you can find it you could flavor Cool Whip with strawberry flavoring. (We enjoy French Vanilla Cool Whip when we can find it and it makes a great substitute.)
17 whole graham crackers
1 stick of butter or margarine
3 cups of milk, divided
Make you own graham crackers by placing the 17 who graham crackers in a gallon size zip lock plastic bag and using a rolling pin, crush the graham crackers.
Place1/4 cup powered sugar and the butter (melted) into a bowl with the graham cracker crumbs and mix until well blended, then pour into a 9 x 13 dish and pat firmly.
Place 2 packages of cream cheese, 1/4 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of milk in mixing bowl and beat until well blended. Spread this mixture over the graham cracker crust.
Pour 2 3/4 cups of milk into a large bowl and add pudding mixes. Blend well. Pour over the cream cheese layer. Let stand at least 5 minutes or until pudding is thickened.
Spoon the cool whipped topping on top of the pudding carefully and then spread it out over the pudding.
Garnish the top with lemon slices. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
It looks delightful. It tastes so refreshing.
This recipe is good all year round but super refreshing in hot weather.
