Scripture to Live By:
In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin’s name was Mary. And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!”But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?”
And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God.

Christmas Eve is only one week away and my house is hopping. My to do list is still quite lengthy. I made these Crispy Christmas Trees for Kingdom Kids class at church yesterday. They were such a big hit that several of the children asked for extras to take home to sisters, moms and grandmas. They are so cute and easy to make this would be something you and your children could do on their Christmas break while they are in great anticipation of Christmas morning. Hope you like these and will try them with your children, grandchildren or with a friend. They also make good gift and tree decorations. So why not get started, the following is what you will need.
Fun Recipe:
6 cups of crisp rice cereal (Rice Krispies)
1 10 ounce bag of marshmallows(miniature or regular)
3 Tablespoons of margarine or butter
1 Christmas tree cookie cutter
Wilton paste coloring (Yellow and Green)
1 bag of Skittles (I had little packets of Skittles)
1 can of frosting or make your own frosting
Frosting Recipe
4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup of Crisco
1/3 cup milk (if consistency is as thin as you would like add a teaspoon at a time until you get it the consistency you desire.)
1 teaspoon vanilla
Measure out the 6 cups of crispy rice into a large bowl.
Put the marshmallows in a microwaveable bowl. Add the 3 Tablespoons margarine and microwave for two minutes. Remove from the microwave oven, stir thoroughly, put back in the microwave oven and cook two minutes longer.
Remove from the microwave add 1 teaspoon of green food coloring paste. Mix well. Pour over crispy rice cereal and stir until the cereal is coated well.
Press mixture into a buttered cookie sheet as seen below.
Let cool, then using your cookie cutter cut into Christmas trees.
Using a pastry bag and star tip decorate trees as seen below.
Put stars where you want to attach skittles.
Make the star on the top of the tree larger by using a larger star tip.
Let them set for a little time until the frosting firms up to the touch.
The Crispy Christmas Trees are ready to serve.
Oh! they look so festive.
Wishing you a blessed Christmas.
