Scripture to Live By:
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of
the glory of God;
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the
gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy
mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Scripture to Live By: A dear friend gave me this recipe. I have enjoy making home made brownies for several reasons but one of them is by making my own brownie mix I know exactly what ingredients are going into them. When I buy boxed Brownie mixes I am not always sure what the ingredients are. I like making the Brownie Mix in quantity so I have a supply on hand when I need brownies in a hurry. So if you like knowing exactly what is in the Brownies you make perhaps you would like to try this recipe for Make Ahead Brownie Mix. If so, here is what you will need.
Recipe Post:
6 cups Flour
4 teaspoons Baking Powder
4 teaspoons Salt
8 cups Sugar
2 and 1/2 cups Cocoa
2 cups Crisco shortening
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl. Mix in sugar and cocoa. Using a pastry blender blend in the Crisco shortening.
After all ingredients are blended well, store in an air tight container in your cupboard until ready to make brownies.
(I stored my mix in the bowl I mixed it up in because it has an air tight lid to go with it. – Tupperware bowl.)
When ready to use:
Spray the bottom of an 9 X 13 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Set aside.
Beat 3 eggs or 3/4 cup of egg substitute
2 teaspoons of vanilla
4 cups of brownie mix.
3 Tablespoons of water
Optional: Mix in 2/3 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts.
Pour into the prepared dish. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 minutes. Do not over bake.
Remove from oven cool slightly and cut into 24 brownies.
Hope you will give them a try.
Blessings,
