Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. Psalm 127:3
What a blessing it was to spend Easter with some of our children. The grandchildren had so much fun playing outdoors together. They enjoyed filling eggs for the annual egg hunt, which becomes a family event. The men get to hid the eggs and the children enjoy working together to find them. Just about all the children and adults joined in on the egg coloring. Easter morning we made Resurrection Rolls and shared with the children the truth of what Jesus death means for us. Then the family enjoy celebrating Jesus Resurrection form the dead at our little country church. What a special blessing to each of us. Hallelujah Christ Arose!
Scripture to Live By:
My heart was touched this morning as my husband and I shared devotions on friends.
“A true friend is a gift from God and one who points us back to Him.” David Roper
This is a powerful statement that can help us determine who is a true friend.
The following are a few verses we also read this morning that I thought were so meaningful.
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.Proverbs 17:17
Jonathan was a true friend of David.
And Saul’s son Jonathan went to David at Horesh and helped him find strength in God. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “My father Saul will not lay a hand on you. You will be king over Israel, and I will be second to you. Even my father Saul knows this.” The two of them made a covenant before the Lord. Then Jonathan went home, but David remained at Horesh.1 Samuel 23:16-18
(Jesus said) You are my friends if you do what I command. John 15:14
Recipe Post:
This pie is delicious and easy to make. The total time for making it is approximately 5-10 minutes. There is no baking and it is sure to please. My family was certainly impressed. I have adapted this recipe from a recipe I found on Cooks.com.
What you need:
1 Keebler Oreo pie crust
4 Tablespoons of peanut butter (I used crunchy)
1/4 to 1/2 jar of Nutella
1 box of French Vanilla pudding and pie mix (4 ounce package)
1 cup of milk
1 Cool Whip (8 ounce)
Open pie crust and spread Nutella on the bottom of the crust and around the sides of the crust. (If the Nutella spread is to thick you can microwave it for approximately 10-15 seconds. Stir to see if the consistency is spreadable.)
In a bowl, add the following:
1 box of French vanilla pudding
1 cup of milk
Mix together and then add 4 Tablespoons of peanut butter, blend until thick.
Pour into the Nutella coated pie crust.
Top with Cool Whip.
Garnish with Oreo bits and chocolate shavings.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Yummy!!!
I made two of these at Easter and they certainly didn’t last long.
It was a treat that they all enjoyed.
Blessings,
