Scripture to Live By:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Jesus is the best “Valentine” anyone could ever have and He proved it by giving His life that we might have everlasting life now and forever.
I got the Valentine kit from Oriental Trade for the children, I teach, to put together, so they can give it to whom ever they choose. It is a nice way to share the love of God with others this Valentines Day. (I added a card stock heart to it to make it sturdier.)
Recipe Post:
This recipe is so simple to make and one the children can help you with. My children and grandchildren really enjoy this recipe. It is right for any occasion. This recipe take only a few minutes to make.
What you will need:
2 cups of sugar
1/4 cups of cocoa
1/2 cup of butter or margarine
1/2 cup of milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup of peanut butter ( I use crunchy peanut butter to make them Peanutty or you can add 1/2 cup of chopped peanuts to the peanut butter.)
3 cups quick of rolled oats (I use whole grain)
1 teaspoon vanilla
Spread out a piece of wax paper about 2 foot long. This will be used to drop your cookies on.
Measure out all ingredients.
Place the first 5 in a sauce pan.
Stir constantly, bringing mixture to a boil. Once the mixture starts to boil, boil it one minute, or until a soft ball forms. To see if a soft ball forms, take the spoon you are stirring with out of the pan and drip a drop of mixture into a cup of cold water. If a soft ball forms in the cold water it is ready to add the peanut butter.
Add the peanut butter and stir until mixture is smooth. Now add the oats and vanilla.
Mix well.
Drop by tablespoons onto wax paper,
Cool. Yields 4 dozen.
Bet you can’t eat just one!
They are so good, they will not last long, especially at our house.
A friend of mine gave me this recipe over thirty years ago, and I still make it often. We never tire of it, because the combination of the ingredients are our favorites. If you have never eaten Peanutty No Bake Cookies, I can assure you this recipe is worth trying.
