Scripture to Live By:
Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:24
May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
My mouth will speak words of wisdom; the meditation of my heart will give you understanding.
And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
I made this fudge many years ago and then I forgot all about it. A couple of weeks ago I saw it on Rachel Ray’s show. It is a quick last minute recipe that is super fast and good. Here is what you will need to make it:
1 12 ounce package semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk (save the can)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 i-ounce can walnuts, plus more for topping
1/2 cup raisins
Candied red and green cherries (optional)
Butter an 8 inch round cake pan.
In a medium saucepan, mix Chocolate and butterscotch chips, and 1 can of condensed milk, and vanilla.
Cook at low heat until chips are melted together. (Takes about 3 minutes.)
Cover the empty condensed milk can with saran wrap and place in the center of your pan.
After the mixture on stove as melted together, remove from stove and mix in nuts and raisins.
Mix well and then pour into your pan, (adjust the can keeping it in the center as you put the fudge in the pan around it.) See below.
Cut your candied green cherries in half.
Decorate with 1 red cherry and 3 green cherries forming the holly berries.
Let cool completely and then twist the can to remove it from the center and then remove your Fudge Wreath from the plan and place on a serving dish.
Cut into slices. (I then cut those slices in half to serve.)
There you have it! It is delicious candy.
So if you need a delicious candy it takes only 5 minutes to make, this is the one. It is a recipe your children can make. Oh the memories I have of working with them in the kitchen at Christmas or any other time of the year. Wishing you God’s Best this Christmas season and all the year through.
