Scripture to Live By:
Scriptures on communication from the book of Ephesians:
Ephesians 4:15 – but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into him who is the head – Christ..
Ephesians 4:25 -27 Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. Be angry and do not sin, do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.
Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
God has spoken to my own heart this week about how I communicate with words to my husband in the presence of other. Sometimes I see myself communicating differently in front of people than I do when we are alone. God reminded my that I am to obey His word in how I communicate with my words no matter where I am or with whom I am speaking. We are to speak truth in a loving way and if we can’t, it is not time to speak. Our speech is to build up and not tear down.
Recipe Post:
I have been ask for my Cole Slaw recipe, and when I tell people what it is, they are totally shocked. There is no shredding of a head of cabbage, or carrots. It is all done for you. Nor is there mixing of ingredients to make the dressing. I have made it from scratch most of my life, but one day I tried Marzetti Slaw Dressing (Low Fat variety) and I was sold on it and use it regularly. I purchase ready to eat Cole slaw mix, which has both green and red cabbage, and carrots already shredded. It is so simple to make.
Here is what you need:
1 16 ounce bag of ready made of Cole Slaw
1 jar (16 ounce of Low Fat Marzetti Slaw Dressing
Just empty the package of cole slaw into a large bowl and
add about 1/2 jar of cole slaw dressing to the slaw mix.
Mix well and serve with your favorite meal.
I chose to serve the cole slaw with Pork Barbecue and Calico Beans.
We also like to mix cole slaw with a can of chili beans and eat it as a salad. Yummy!
You can’t make it easier than this, yet it is the best cole slaw I have eaten.
