Scripture to Live By: Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And when the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” Genesis 8:20-22
And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.
”Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him, “Behold, I establish my covenant with you and your offspring after you, and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the livestock, and every beast of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark; it is for every beast of the earth. I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” Genesis 9:1,8-16
I have been doing a study both in Awana and Kingdom Kids on Noah, the Flood and God keeping Noah and his family safe in the Ark, which God had told him to build. God keep them safe in the Ark. There were eight people and all the animals that went into the ark, two by two, as well as seven of the clean animals. God protected all that was in the ark. God destroyed all mankind , animals, fowl, creeping thing that were upon the earth by water. The flood waters covered the entire earth for 150 days, according to the scripture. The account of the flood is found in book of Genesis chapters 6-9. After the flood, God made a covenant with Adam and all future generations that He would not send a flood to destroy all flesh ever again. The rainbow in the cloud is to remind Him and us of His everlasting covenant. The ark represents all those who have trusted Jesus as their personal Savior. They are safe from the judgment of God. The Bible says in Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Recipe Post:
1 box of cake mix
3 eggs
1/2 cup of oil
1 cup of water
1 can of Vanilla frosting
3 packages of Air Nerds Xtreme candy bars
1 bag of miniature marshmallows
Blue food coloring
Makes 24 cupcakes.
Line cup cake tins with paper liners. Make up cake mix according to package. Put 1/4 cup of cake mixture in each cupcake tin. Bake according to time on cake mix box, approximately 25-30 minutes, or until the cupcakes are golden brown and they spring back when lightly touched. Remove from oven and cool on cooling rack.
While cupcakes are cooling, empty the frosting into a bowl and add 1/2 teaspoon of blue Wilton paste coloring.
Blend well.
Using a large star tube and a pastry bag filled with frosting. Frost your cup cakes as follows, if desired.
or using a spatula, smooth frosting onto cupcakes.
Cut miniature marshmallow in half and cut approximately 1 inch off each piece of Xtreme candy strip, (so the rainbow will not sag but stand up more firm.)
I put two slits in each cup cake, as seen below, to insert the candy strip into the cupcake. (I used a tooth pick to help push the strip into the cake, without messing up the cupcake.)
The strip will look like an arch on the cup cake. Put marshmallow on each side of the “rainbow”.
How easy are these?!!!
I made these as a treat for the children in Kingdom Kids, and for my grandchildren. They are the perfect treat when telling the Biblical story of Noah and the Flood. These cupcakes help them to remember God’s covenant with us to never destroy the earth with a flood again. The children were so excited about them.
Blessings,
