Scripture to Live By:
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters
3 roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah
Psalms 46:1-3
Frugal Find Post:
My husband and I went to a Giant Flea Market and Antique sale over the weekend at our state fair grounds. It was one of the largest I have ever been to. I was wishing my family could have been with me. They would simply have loved it. There was so much available and we could have spent lots of money but we tried to discipline ourselves and not to buy any thing that we did not feel we needed or that we were planning to buy down the road. My husband had been looking for belts for his band-saw which we have not been able to find. We have been looking for months. Well to our great surprise we found a band-saw that was for sale for only $30.00 and it had 3 brand new blades with it. We went to Lowe’s later to see how much of a bargain we got. We found the same saw at Lowe’s and it was $129.97 so we felt we got a great deal. It looks brand new.
We had been planning to make shutters for Our New Barn for some time but with other projects that needed to be completed the shutters were not at the top of our list. We found five sets of shutters the size that would fit our windows for $14.00 a set. They were still in their original wrapping. Purchasing them would save hours of time it would have took in making them and the materials as well. I was thrilled. I wanted to see how much we had saved in buying them at the flea market so we went to Lowe’s to price them. The original cost for them was between $26-35.00 per set.
We will have to wait to put them on the barn because our Cannas are so tall this year they are covering the windows on one side of the barn as you can see.
I also got a bag of plastic clothes pins and Bisquick Cook Book for a dollar, and a cookie sheet for a quarter.
I just love getting bargains and I thought these bargains were exceptional. We are learning to shop at Restores, Salvation Army Stores, Cancer Society Stores, Flea markets for the things we need and to get the best deal possible. Why pay full price for things when you can get them at these stores much cheaper and save money. Hope I can inspire you to do like wise.
Blessings,
