Scripture to Live By: My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.Psalm 31:15
I am so very thankful that our families times are really in the hands of God. The last few months have been months of the unexpected. We learned that my brother had a short time to live and has since went to be with his Lord. My granddaughter was diagnosed with epilepsy and a couple of weeks ago my grandson was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. As we looked forward to 2014 and wondered what a year would bring forth we had no idea that some of these things would be a part of it. We are certainly glad that we are never alone and that none of these things took God by surprise, even though we were. I am so glad He has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. I certainly would not have chosen any of these things but I know He holds our lives in his hands. He is trustworthy in all the ups and downs of life.
Recipe Post:
I worked at a Christian Camp for a few years and one of the favorite recipes there among the campers was Scotch-0-Roos. We really liked them in our family, as well. They are so simple to make yet they have such a good taste and texture. Hope you will give them a try. Here is ingredients you will need:
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of corn syrup
1 cup of crunchy peanut butter
6 cups of rice krispie cereal
6 oz of chocolate chips
6 oz of butterscotch chips
Mix 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of corn syrup in a saucepan and heat to a boil.
Remove from heat and mix in 1 cup of crunchy peanut butter.
Mix well and then pour mixture over the 6 cups of Rice Krispies.
Blend well until all cereal is thoroughly coated.
Pour into a 9 x 13 inch dish and pat into the corners equally.
Bring chocolate and butterscotch chips to melting point under low heat.
Spread over the Rice Krispies and top with crushed peanuts.
Cool and cut into bars.
These are so easy to make yet with the blend of peanut butter, butterscotch and chocolate make them extra special. Why not try them and see if you don’t agree.
Blessings,

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 Just some courage for this new year. 🙂 My grandmother use to make these. Good memories.
