Scripture to Live By:
Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Sunday, our pastor built his message around this verse, and he brought out some points that I thought were so worth sharing with you. He said that there are four basic fears that man has:
1. Fear of death.
2. Fear of failure.
3. Fear of lack of security both physical and financial.
4. Fear of the future.
He said that:
God wants to trade our fear for His fellowship. (Fear thou not; for I am with thee)
He wants to trade His comfort for our confusion.(be not dismayed; for I am thy God)
He wants to trade His strength for our weakness. (I will strengthen thee)
He wants to trade His help for our helplessness. (yea, I will help thee)
He wants to trade His righteousness for our filthy rags – Isaiah 64:6. ( I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. )
These are some awesome trade offs.
Recipe Post: Rhodes MapleCinnamon Rolls
This recipe is made using Rhodes frozen bread dough. When I make these rolls I make two or three loaves at a time. We all enjoy these cinnamon rolls.
What you will need to make these rolls:
1 loaf of Rhodes frozen bread dough per large Cinnamon Roll.
1/2 cup of butter or margarine
1/2 cup sugar
Cinnamon to coat bread.
1 1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts, divided (optional)
Thaw bread dough.
Roll the dough out in a rectangle shape approximately 15×8 inches.
Melt the butter, and coat the bread dough with your melted butter or margarine, but do not coat all the way to the edges, because the dough will not stick together when you roll it up.
Then coat your buttered dough with cinnamon (cover it really good). Then sprinkle sugar all over it. (We like it sweet, so I put approximately a half a cup of sugar on it.)
Then add half of the chopped nuts. (optional)
Next, starting from the edge closest to you, began to roll the bread up as shown below..
Roll up your loaf of bread, like you do a pumpkin roll or jelly roll, and then pinch the seam together. Place seam down on cookie sheet.
I use kitchen shears and cut three quarters of the way through the cinnamon roll, making each cut approximately one and one-half inch thick. (One loaf makes approximately 14 rolls.)
Start at one end and start flipping one roll to the right and one to the left as shown below until you come to the end of the roll. This makes the loaf look like a braid.
Let it raise for an hour or so, until it is the size you want your rolls to be. (They will raise a little more as they bake.)
While the rolls are raising you can make up the caramel glaze topping.
Maple Topping
1/3 cup of butter or margarine
2 cups of powder sugar
1/8 to 1/4 cup of milk
Mix ingredients together, but pourthe milk in a little at a time, so it is not too runny (If it is more runny than you like add morepowdered sugar).
Add 1 TBSP. of MAPLE flavoring. (I use enough to make it look caramel color.)
After the rolls have risen to desired size, bake at 350 until golden brown. (Approximately 15 to 20 minutes.) Remove from the oven and cool slightly (5 to 10 minutes, where they are still warm to the touch). Then brush maple topping over each roll thoroughly.
Sprinkle the other half of your nuts on top of your rolls.
Braided cinnamon roll without nuts.
Cinnamon roll with nuts
We really enjoy this cinnamon roll with the maple topping and nuts. Making it with the Rhodes bread dough, makes it a quick and easy cinnamon roll to make. When I make these, I usually make up a roll with nuts and one without. I make one braided and one into round rolls. They are so yummy. I hope you will try them. Remember to lay your dough out in the morning, to thaw, if you want to serve them in the afternoon.
Blessings,
