Scripture To Live By:
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
1 John 4:7
Valentines Day is the day our nations sets aside to show love to one another in a special way.
God wants us to love one another and show His love to all everyday.
The greatest of all commandments is found in Matthew 22:37-39
Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Food Post:
I needed to make cupcakes for our Children’s clubs at church for tonight. So I thought I would make strawberry cupcake and decorate them for Valentine Day. Here is what I did.
Made the batter according to the directions on the box.
Ingredients needed:
3 eggs
1 Strawberry cake mix
1/3 cup of oil
1 cup of water
Valentine cup cake papers
Cupids and hearts on sticks
Mix with mixer and pour into cup cake papers
Line cup cake tins with papers and pour in 1/4 to 1/3 up of batter in each one.
Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown and the cupcake springs back with touched. Approximately 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool.
Make up your frosting.
Frosting:
4 cups of powdered sugar
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 cup of margarine
1 cup of Crisco
2 teaspoons of vanilla
Mix above ingredients and beat on high speed approximately five to seven minutes.
Using a frosting bag, put the couplet in the bag and choose the tip you want to use for frosting cake.
Fill frosting bag 3/4 of the way up and fold down top or put a rubber band around it.
Frost each cupcake.
I was, also, excited about getting to use one of my frugal finds, which is the cupcake holder. It holds 24 cup cakes and it has a lid to go with it. The cost of it was only $2.99.
I bought a container of Wilton heart and sprinkled them on the tops of each on.
I put a Valentine pick in each cup cake.
If you look closely you can see the cupcake taker with the lid on it.
(Thought it looked kind of ‘store bought bakery’ with my new container. lol)
I hope the children will like the cup cake. Each child is special to me.
Happy Valentines Day to each of you.
Blessings,
