Psalm 34:1,8 “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth…
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
Happy is the man that trusts in him. The times that I am most peaceful inside are when I am fully trusting God’s sovereignty over my life. When I am worrying or fretting, I am simply not trusting him. I can trust in his loving care and his plan to make me more like Jesus through the circumstances he brings into my life whatever they may be. Is God good? Yes he is, all the time.
There are many foods, after tasting, that we would say are good or delicious, or yummy, but when it comes to God we don’t usually think of tasting him, to see if he is good. I can taste and see, as I spend time in his word with him and through fellowshipping with him in prayer.
Today I am going to share with you a recipe that my daughter shared with me several years ago. I am unaware of where she got it. The recipe is healthy. My daughter and I are always trying to encourage each other to eat healthy. This recipe doesn’t contain any sugar, other than the natural sugar that comes in raisins and dates. We enjoy these muffins, even as snacks.
Date-Raisin-Nut Muffins
1 1/2 cups of boiling distilled water
Add:
1 cup of chopped dates
1 cup of raisins
Combine:
2 slightly beaten egg whites or egg replacer (I used Egg Beaters)
1 cup of whole wheat flour
1 cup of unbleached flour (could use 2 cups of wheat, if you prefer not using unbleached)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1/2 cup pf chopped pecans
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
Purchase the products needed for the recipe.
Measure out the water and heat it in the microwave,
you could heat it on the stove.
I measure out the raisins and chop the dates and nuts, while this is heating.
Mix the dates, raisins and water and let it sit, while you mix the dry ingredients.
Add all the ingredients and blend well.
I use mini muffin pans. You could use regular muffin pans.
Spray them with cooking spray.
Fill with batter. and bake for 20 minutes or longer if using the regular muffin pans.
We like ours extra crisp, so I bake them a little longer.
Eat healthy and enjoy!
Blessings,

Great recipe, I love that they are sugar free. Good point about the worrying, I think that people tend to use negative emotions like worry or anger or even being flippant as sort of an idol that they turn to for "help", instead of just working it out and trusting God.

Glad you like the recipe. We really enjoy it. God is so trustworthy. Another verse that is so helpful to me is the John 16:33. My peace is in him as I trust him for the storms in my world. So glad he has overcome my world.
