Scripture to Live By:
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
Recipe Post:
I was watching the Rachel Ray show and a lady, that was on the show, shared how to make a Peppermint Tray. I thought it was sooooo neat. I went to the store and bought the needed mints to try to make one myself. I think it turned out pretty good. So I wanted to share it with you, thinking you might want to make it over the holidays yourself.
What you will need:
1 package of peppermint starlight mints
1 package of spearmint starlight mints
Parchment paper
Non stick cookie sheet
A bowl to use as a guide for your tray. For a large cookie tray a large bowl, for a small tray use a smaller bowl.
Remove the wrapper from candy and put in bowls.
Cut a piece of parchment paper to fit your cookie sheet.
I used a round pan so I used my finger to indent where the pan was and then trimmed
my parchment paper to fit.
Next put your bowl in the center of your pan on the parchment paper. Your tray will be a little larger than the bowl size.
Start lining the outside of your bowl with the peppermints as shown.
Next remove the bowl and make a circle with the spearmint as shown.
Continue alternating mints until the circle is enclosed with the candy.
Place in a preheated 350 degrees oven and let the candies melt together.
Watch it carefully. It only takes a few minutes to melt. (4-6 minutes approximately)
After it has melted together, remove from the oven and let it cool completely
before removing from parchment paper.
Handle gentle removing the paper and place your cookies on it. (It is fragile.)
I really enjoy the Christmas celebration and all the reminders of my Wonderful Lord and Savior. I am so very thankful we set aside a special day each year to celebrate His birth. A day when any hearts are turn to worship Him, the one who left the realms of glory to come to visit us, dwell among us and then give His life so that we might have Eternal Life.
Blessing to each of you this Christmas,

Looks great! I wonder…is it sticky after they melt?
Jo-Ann says
Erica, I made it 3 days ago and it is not sticky yet. I want to take mine to my daughters house next week. I am going to transfer it on a cookie sheet because it is fragile. I will remove the cookie sheet and place the cookies on it when I am ready to serve them. Hope this is helpful. Blessings, Jo-Ann
