Cake Decorating Post:
Make cakes according to directions on the box.
You will need.
3 cake mixes
9 eggs
1 1/4 cups of oil
water
I used a 4 inch round cake pan and a 12 1/2 inch x 18 1/2 inch pan.
Grease and flour pans.
I used 2 yellow cake mixes and one chocolate. I mixed up two yellow cake mixes and took out 1 cup to make two 4 inch layers. Then I mixed up one chocolate mix and then swirled it into the yellow cake mixes.
Pour into pans and bake according to instructions on boxes.
While the cakes are baking mix up the Butter Cream frosting recipe.
1 recipe of frosting takes
4 cups of powdered sugar
1 cup of Crisco
1 cup of margarine
1/3 cup of evaporated milk
2 teaspoons of vanilla
Mix together and beat at high speed for 7-10 minutes
(You will need to double this recipe to frost this size cake and the 4 inch two layer cake.)
Cool cakes completely on cooling racks before frosting them.
Trim the top of the cake using the rim of the pan as your guide.
This will make the top of the cake flat.
Flip the cake onto the serving dishes with the cut top down.
Frost the cakes and then add borders. As shown below.
Make up a half of recipe of frosting to make flowers and to decorate with.
Color frosting, I use Wilton paste colors. I use a knife and just put the tip of the knife into the color paste and then put that amount into the frosting and mix thoroughly. If the color isn’t the shade I desire, I add more color paste.
Next fill your decorating bags with the color and fold the top down or put a rubber band around the top. Now you are ready to decorate your cake.
This cake is for a little girl. She is very precious. She has just turned 2 years old.
I added a pink border on both cakes.
I made up a pan of flowers. Because they are butter cream I put them in the freezer so I can handle them and place them on the cake, one at a time from the freezer.
Place the flowers where you would like and add green leaves.
This cake is for Joze to eat on her own.
This cake is to be enjoyed by all that will be at her party.
I am so very thankful for these little children God has brought into our lives. Each one of them have a story to tell. They were created by God with purpose and plan. My desire is that each one of them will know the love of God has for them.
